Re: I'm Ready for your Critique of my first Youtube Video

Nice job on the project! That drum head has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Re: Animals as Leaders' Matt Garstka

Matt's a beast. He's bringing upper echelon style drumming to the rock / metal scene. He's not just someone who has mastered the rock game, as Steve says. He plays it all, and has some of the most ferocious chops around. Drummer's drummer facility and chops.

Agree on that ride cymbal. I think Marco's playing sounds fine, but Gavin is much more interesting IMO.

One unique thing I like that Gavin does is not play all the way through 1 on a fill. He'll often end with "4ea" or before, creating tension, which then resolves with a big crash.

New Donald Fagen tune for Steely Dan/DF Fans

New Donald Fagen tune from the upcoming new solo record: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMLDLRSzip8 I really like it. Sounds like he's returned to the Aja/Gaucho/Nightfly era sound. Nothing like it in my opinion. Some people think it's too much like those albums, not progressed enough, but IMO, grea...

Re: Dave DiCenso Interview is up!!

You could really do a "Drummers in cars getting coffee thing." I enjoyed this so much more than the Seinfeld thing (as a drummer of course).
