Re: New Years Eve gigs anyone?
lol. I eat 2-3 raw egg yolks every day without the boose. My cat gets some, too. So far so good.
Just having dinner and playing board games with my family before I drive home early tomorrow morning.

Re: Lerryns Hernandez snare
He has a site and it has a gear section, but the snares aren't mentioned. In the video however it says that all his snares are that brans who's logo I can't read.
I might just send him a mail. Worst case I don't get an answer, so it's worth a try.

Re: Booking advice
In the end it's all about drawing people and selling beer.
Every place is different.
Generally speaking, if it's to hard to get rapport it's not really worth it. If you know other bands that play there as well, take advantage of that and get them to recommend you.

Re: Snare drum method recommendations.
I use Gary's books for my own practice. Didn't really need the technique book, since there was nothing new, but it's good to get for inspiration just in case. The meter and patterns book basically gives you linear 16th note bassdrum possibilities(first fat back, then he moves the snare drum and then...

Re: Vic Firth 'joins forces' with Zildjian
I don't remember criticizing every pro's technique. I've just not had a stick break yet. Obviously I wear my sticks out from any metal surface on my kit. That's a bit different from breaking them, though. I'm simply saying there hasn't been a brand related quality issue causing me to break a stick. ...

Re: Vic Firth 'joins forces' with Zildjian
I still dig my Vinnie sticks. Best sticks ever for my hands. I dobuy enough of them to match them up myself so it's not a big problem, but I feel it's Zildjians job to take care of that. I've never broken a stick of any make or model in my life, so I sort of don't get that. After a while the tips st...

Snare drum method recommendations.
Hi there guys'n'gals! Not having gone the traditional way myself, thus not really having a library of these things, I have found the school I work at to have a serious lack in drum materials of all kinds. I feel I have enough material for the general drumset and independence stuff, but I need some m...
