I would totally put Dicenso on the banner. Not sure if I I have the original image to edit. I take a look.

Re: HoD Banner Nomination
It is funny, Gadd and Tony are both born in '45 and no doubt Tony got to taste fame before Gadd did, bu from my
drumming point of view Gadd is the greatest. If I really have to boil it down to one, it's Gadd.
Funny thing, when I hung out with Virgil the other day, we both agreed that Dicenso is the most exciting player coming on
to the scene within the last few years - probably within the last 10 years or so. Dicenso is a monster. Virgil mentioned his (Dicenso's)
fluidity, even when he's the most chops'y. His flow is awesome and his playing is fresh and has depth.

Can anyone recommend some dicenso recordings? All the vids of him I see I just don't get. I think he played on a hiromi album but not sure which ones...
"Ding ding da ding." Apollo teaching Rocky how to Jazz.

I will add Chris Coleman.
Tony or Elvin, or DC.

Re: HoD Banner Nomination
If I were to create a list of the drummers who had the biggest impact on me over the years, it would be.
* Tony Williams
* Vinnie Colaiuta
* Gary Husband
* Simon Phillips
* Terry Bozzio
* Steve Smith
* Steve Gadd
* Phil Collins
* Bill Bruford
* Peter Erskine
* Dave Weckl
* Mark Craney
* Chad Wackerman
* Bill Stewart
But I have been affected as much, if not more, buy many composers and songwriters. All these drummers sounded great because they were playing great music. The only guy I can really listen to while he's just playing drums, is Tony Williams.

Dave DiCenso , with Two Ton Shoe 's CD "Resoled , is great , especially because the songs are good and he's in the pocket and still playing great stuff and on the fade outs he kicks ass . I , feel that's a great
choice and Hiromi's "Another Mind " cd also is a good choice .

I would add Todd Sucherman and Gavin Harrison--two guys who are top-profile, amazing players who frequent the forum. Since they have topped the Modern Drummer polls for their respective genres and are spoken of so highly and regularly by the board, they seem to be a "shoe-in" from my humble point of view.
