Hey hey guys!
After Steve´s fantastic take on "Just Groove Me" I feel a bit ashamed in posting this one i did a couple of months back. Steve was just killer on that track!
It feels good to be thinking of drumming and continuing learning and be inspired again. These last couple of months have been way intense and a bit of an emotional rollarcoster ride after the horrendous robbery/hostage incident I was victim of back in September. Glady - it all goes quite well now actually.
Well, here is a little video I did a while back with me playing along to Tommy Igoe´s 7/8 from his Groove Essentials. I found the track to be really fun to play, but I did it in my own way (can´t play at all like Tommy I fully realize!!), and I just trying to have fun with it.
The way I approach it was that I heard the song a couple of times only, did a couple of takes really fast and when I thought it felt nice - I kept it. So, I did it rather fast and mixed it quickly inside Logic and there it goes. I seem to be too impatient with getting it "perfect" or even a "more interesting" take.
Other than that, I am just happy that I just yesterday got myself a new drum room, because the building I have been in will now be demolished over the new year.
I´ve had the same one since 1998 so it is quite a change for me. Hopefully I will get comfortable in that new facility, and hope to get more inspired in getting better and learn more. I´ve done a bit other stuff lately too, just to try and play along to some stuff...but have to get more time and get a bit cooler and "hipper" play-alongs.

Yeah man you nailed that tune! Nicely done Sturla. That drum set looks fun to play.
Wish I could see your hands more though, maybe move to the camera a bit next time for a better view of them?

Nice work, loved the kit and you got a great sound out of it. The solo part was very musical too, well done!

Thanks guys!
I didn´t have a wider lens (at the time) so it was hard to get a view from the side. I guess I could have moved it higher so you could get a more birds-eye view - perhaps.
Nevertheless - it was a fun track to play.

Nice sound! I enjoyed your cymbals, and the drum sound. Tight as well. Noyce.

Nice job, as usual, Sturla. Really good feel and sound. I enjoy your covers on YT, especially 'Give Blood'. Keep up the great work.
