Those Erskine bags are worthless... The stitching gives where they stitched the the material that holds the sticks in the bag, so if you stand it upright, they slide out the bottom, rendering the table aspect useless.

This has happened twice to me. I still have the bag, but it now has to lay on it's back.

I disagree! Mine has held up just fine and have no complaints getting to brushes or other sticks I may need from the stick bag/"table top." The 1st iteration (Yamaha) of it. I like the dw model (later redesigned model) with the little stand. Makes for it to be easier to get to, as opposed to a slight bend and reach down to get other items on the top "table" 1st iteration. Alas, it does cost alittle more than the $89 jazz gig compensation situation.

John Riley demonstrates on his jazz dvd how to go from sticks to brushes back to sticks, etc. in one of the segements. In the segment he starts from the floor tom....

I guess I'm just hard on my gear... It really didn't take long for the stitching to give way on mine. Maybe about 6 months, but I do keep a lot of mallets and things in there too. I could probably stand to trim down.
