Is Zildjian/VF going to continue making the Vinnie stick?
Is Zildjian/VF going to continue making the Vinnie stick?
I have heard that Zildjian/VF was going to continue making the VC stick but under a new title/name. Has anyone heard this? If so, any details?

Just received word from Z's customer service that they will NOT make the VC model under another name/designation. They did say they just introduced a new model that was similar to the VC stick. Unfortunately it is longer and smaller than the original, so other than the tip similarity, it doesn't really seem close to the original. Bummer.. as I have used that stick before I was a huge VC fan. I just like the balance and weight/diameter of that stick.
Here is the 'replacement' Vinnie stick.

Fear not, there will be a Vic Firth stick with Vinnie's name on it. Patience...

5B with acorn tip sounds simple.
Point is:
1) A lot of people like it.
2) There aren't any alternatives.
If Vic don't make it, it's an obvious business opportunity.
I'm glad I don't wear my sticks out that fast and have about 35 pairs of them. They could last me for years, so hopefully something will be available when I run out.

Vinnie stick feels different from a 5B VF stick, I thinks it is shorter....?

Vinnie's stick, which I like to use for my pad practice, feels heavier to me than a 5B. Could the diameter be a bit bigger maybe?
