Guess I tend to agree with Vinnie on a lot of things. Well, except those Paistes.
The sticks too, though. When I started playing I tried out so many types andalways came back to the old Vinnie sticks. The new Vic one feels ok, but for the first time since I started drumming I'm getting sores on top of my TG left hand and on the middle joint of my right pinky, most likely from the vax making it stick in werid places. I really don't se the need for that Vic vax. It's just annoying. Another thing is that while the Zildjians lasted 4-5 months if I wanted them to, the Vics are pretty much dead by rimshot in a week. Vic may have thought about everything, but that 6% moisture content makes think more about those cell phones purposely made to last no more than a year.
Being where I'm at though, a beginning drummer, why hasn't anyone ever asked him what his favourite Stick Control routines are?

From Dennis Moody Facebook page:
"Recording tracks today for the new Mili Nair CD with my old buddy Vinnie Colaiuta on drums and the awesome James Genus on bass! Good times!"

This isn't a Vinnie clip but it's a cool thing to check out for Vinnie fans out here:
http://moderndrummer.storenvy.com/collections/1127448-artist-packs/products/13690701-vinnie-colaiuta-artist-pack
(and I know most of you must have read it all before in MD but it feels pretty cool to be able to check it out in the same place. Some of them I hadn't seen before).

I don't think that's true. I can spot at least 40 things in the pack which aren't on the site.
Edit: Thanks for flagging this up renardvert, I've just downloaded it and it is GREAT. So much stuff which, unless you subscribed to MD since 1982 and kept all the copies, you won't find elsewhere...

No, they aren't. Only the full interviews are. It's kinda cool to read old "Ask A Pro" articles, read transcriptions, old updates, the LA session roundtable and more.
