That's what he was doing at Sweetwater when they interviewed him.

Its a completely different kit from the old Vinnie signature Gretsch kit.

It's a kit made of NOS Jasper shells. He has all sizes. I'm sure those badges were no problem to get for him.

This VC thread is ridiculous...Vinnie has 19 lives...oh yeah...he also played with ASIA!
WHAT? Seriously insane career...the waters depart when he walks on the NAMM floor
and rightfully so. Is it just me, that since his divorce, Vinnie has done mad session work?
It's like he's chasing Jeff's numbers...but the diversity is all over the map!

Listened to it today. Man, I have really been underwhelmed with Jing Chi since the beginning. Maybe I have way too high of expectations as Robben Ford and Vinnie are my favorites at their respective instruments (and Haslip is a monster as well), but I have not liked one of their albums yet.
Moderation's all well and good, just don't overdo it.

WHAT? The first self-titled disc - you didn't dig it? Production wise it may be the perfect drum sound to my ears - second the playing is ridiculous! The train song is a favorite - Robben's solos on all the tunes are all stories - love them.
Oh well.

SPM on the latest has some cool stuff...GREAT open hat sound and
interesting VC hi hat phrasing...tight 8th note pulse. As noted
in another thread or this one...not like the first LP but still
good...first set the bar so high it was downhill afterwards.
First LP probably my favorite VC drumming in one location!
Entire record is simply fabulous music...one of those LP's
to play for those not into straying far from radio hits.

I’ll give that first one a listen again, but there must be something about it (and all the others) that I don’t like because I WANT to love this band, I just don’t for some reason.
