Roy was one of my absolute favorites. There’s so much to dive into about him, but the record that I always gravitated to by him was his quartet album “Out of the Afternoon.” The tune “Raoul” - man that stuff still sounds so hip. One of the truly unique voices.

I learned some of Roy's playing, he was as inventive and innovative as Elvin, but quicker and with more notes. What a genius of the drums.
