Ralph Humphrey

I get the impression that Ralph Humphrey is overlooked a lot. Love his playing with Zappa.

Any other recommendations?

Al Jarreau "Alonzo", "Never Givin' Up" and Pages "Tell Me" are among my favorite !!!
I come from Tain, Vinnie, Omar, Jeff, Fish, Stewart, and many more...

Yeah ditto on his playing on "Tell Me" by Pages! The whole album has a whole host of great drummers if you've never checked it out. Rodge showed me that one ;)

In addition to his recordings, check out his book: "Even in the Odds". Its about 30 years old, and still holds up well; very challenging...
