Wouldn't that be awesome if Vinnie simply chose not to endorse anything? He'd be my hero (twice over).

Yamaha guys, stifle yourselves. Has it gotten this bad? Fred Grestch & Co. make a fine, custom, American product. I understand that statement can be a challenge to accept around here.

Edit: So imagine that Gretsch goes belly up. Do you gloat? Do dance on Fred's grave? C'mon, really?? Do you?? Yamaha guys, wake up! Understand, Yamaha sells everything. Motorbikes. Washing machines. Calculators. Pianos. How much does Yamaha really love you? If I didn't mention your brand, consider it placed here. And you're ready to dance on Fred's grave, apparently. I consider Gretsch an underdog. I am disappointed in this discussion.

"Vinnie, you're the biggest name in drums. To renew your contract with us, we need you to do some clinics dates."
"No. In fact just for asking, I'll be switching to a different company. Is that a video camera?!?!!"

Now THAT was funny!

+1.

I don't think for a minute that whatever amount Vinnie is or isn't paid by Gretsch will make a difference to him. I recall reading somewhere that he'd always played Gretsch because he liked them -even when he used Yamaha on tours with Sting etc....surely he's more concerned with how the drums sound and play rather than getting a retainer?

Here's hoping we don't see him behind DWs any time soon...might just be me, but I've yet to hear DWs that sound good( to my ears, any way)

There is a huge big space on VC's website, in the space that the Gretsch link used to be.

Feb 5th is his next gig with Sting. The European part of the tour takes off that day. Some footages are most likely to appear on YT.
Is an endorsement deal a prerequisite for any professional musician.....?

Sonor keeps crossing my mind. VC played on Sonor with Zappa .... ;-)
