I met Jeff sometime around '75-'76 when he was with Monty Alexander. I was playing in a big band opening for them and let him use my kit...the blue moire Camco kit in my avatar. He was just ridiculous back then as he is now. That was one of those stand backstage and get a clinic firsthand things that I cherish so much about my younger years. We talked for a long time about "stuff" in general, Tony Williams in particular and about my crazy drum kit. He actually wanted to buy it from me. He was so impressed with the feel of those drums.

Yeah, I agree, Jeff is one of those guys who just does what he does so eloquently and doesn't get near enough mention.
