Cool compilation of earlier and early Vinnie solos. Also, from 3:12, I'd never heard that 16 bar solo before.

Vinnie's control of his ghost notes and doubles is incredible. Heresey for saying but maybe he's eclipsed Buddy, he is also hitting pretty hard with power. Love it.

listened to it on audio but never saw the video of it...maybe. Horrible video but wow. He's bigger than music itself. Absolute genius. And have the facility to pull off anything and everything. Dislocated jaw because it was on the floor. Chuckling in disbelief the entire time. Early 90's Vinnie!!!
Re: VINNIE - The thread about Colaiuta
Went out on a rainy night to see Paul Rodgers and Jeff Beck.
Good show, Paul Rodgers can sing, holy cow. He is 69 and still belting it out, hard to tell what he's lost in his abilities...and he can get a crowd going. He has it down.
The star of the show was the cellist accompanying Jeff Beck. They did a really nice duet, never heard electric guitar with a cello before, was a pretty and morose sound, but with Beck's bite. Nice.
Here's VC's solo on You Know You Know, sorry about the shakiness.

Saw the Toronto gig.. Always inspiring to see/hear Vinnie play.. His kit sounded beautiful. Overall volume was too loud, I could barely hear the cellist except in duo with Beck.. Agreed on Paul Rodgers voice!!! Good show nevertheless.
Sounding good in Boston here.

He's sitting a little higher, getting more weight behind the strokes...
Which is refreshing when you have other drummers tapping away 'gruber' style.

He's got the icons, and says the names too.
