Show me your Drum Room!

Whoa! Peavey drums! It's been a long time since I last saw one of those radial bridge kits. Still have the catalogs somewhere in my old place. Are they still working ok? The technology seemed pretty clever back in the day.

It's one of my goals for this year to record them properly. Live they sound better than any other brand I've played.
I used to sell drums for a living, and I've played all major brands and tons of minor brands (like Brady, Noble & Cooley,
Pork Pie, Orange County, Spaun, Craviotto and loads more) and none has matched the full-bodied warmth and punch of these.

Although I've never played a brand of drums because of any one drummer (no, not even Virg ) I do hear
some say that it reminds them of Vinnie's white Gretsch kit at first glance. That doesn't bother me.

Arguably my kit isn't the prettiest in all the land, but I just reached a point where the sound mattered more.

I'm with you on the warmth and depth of the Peavey's, Morganthaler.
Way back in the day, when I used to work for Thoroughbred music (anyone remember that?!), we had a Peavey Radial kit that sounded amazing. The warmth of those drums was unparalleled by any other kit in the store, didn't matter what brand or wood. The bass drum was especially huge sounding. I STILL remember how knocked out we all were listening to those drums. Good for you! Great kit...

when you post to the board, there is a tab below that says "upload attachment" needs to be a fairly small, under 1 meg i believe.

Does anyone know of any good (cheap) suppliers of sound deadening materials? That corrugated foam type stuff?

you can make baffles fairly cheap by using some 2x4s, foam and carpet. build a frame, insert the foam and cover with the carpet.

great drum rooms guys. keep em coming. mine is in shambles. will post once it's put together. i wanna see Gavin Harrison's drum shed. The kit he learns and sheds the stuff he needs to maintain and come up with new stuff.
