Re: Vinnie spots the camera...

Am I the only one on Vinnie's side here?

It seems so ridiculous that despite the fact Vinnie's so massively uncomfortable with the filming, the cameraman persists.
That's so super embarrassing, isn't it?

Maybe it's my reserved English-ness, but how cringeworthy is it that despite the fact Vinnie is obviously this guy's idol (that's probably why he's taping him so avidly) he doesn't care a jot that he's pissing him off so intensely. Would anyone here really want to piss off their idols? It would kill me to think someone I loved/idolised hated me so much...

I get that videos are commonplace nowadays, but with that, has compassion and dignity left in its place? You do what you want, because you can?
Right or wrong, the fact that Vinnie obviously hates this deserves some respect, no?

If it had been subtle, or hidden, maybe it'd have been a fun video for me. But the fact it upsets him so much and the guy PERSISTS, makes me feel so uncomfortable. Complete lack of respect...

Try and leave your emotions out of it as you can't possibly judge not having been there to actually see the truth. I actually agree that it was "so embarrassing" but no one really knows what happened apart from Vinnie and that guy ... I don't think Vinnie usually freaks so much normally ... who knows

DSOP, is it the fact that those don't look like Zildjians? At least to me they don't. I could be wrong.

No, you're not. I agree completely about if it were on the sly, but it's not and Vinnie's trying to give him the hint while blazing.

Frankly, I just wish that they'd film a different song! How many times do we need to hear "Seven Days" from this tour? Most of the time, I've only longed for the earlier more reserved renditions.

Yeah. Seemed on mic from stage to me. Getting called out from stage is prolly what got the camera turned off.

When I watched the YouTube clip I actually expected Vinnie to jump over his drumset, run towards the camera,

That's exactly what he did when I saw him after NAMM at the Spud w/Jazz Ministry.
Last tune, last note played...BOOM...like a bat out of you know what, he was off stage
and ran around his kit (Spud is a small place but packed to the brim that night) and
out the back door. Then I heard, "Give me the camera" which was at full volume...
again, the place was packed and the crowd was in chatter...again and again...
his voice was in full rage now.

This was something that built over time. During the whole gig he was obsessed
with the 'little red light' (great song title) and the guy (specific decent, possibly
non-English speaker) most likely came from NAMM and possibly lives overseas
to see his hero play ignored him the entire show.

Vince told him 2x to stop...that only allowed his magma chamber to boil over before
exploding. It was an event.

I thought he had to pee or take a much needed smoke because I tell ya, he disappeared
after the last cymbal crash!

He's very human after all. :)
