It's cool to hear the very strong influence. However IMO, it seems too forced into the mix of the music if you will. Beatles did it back in the day, it's a flavor that comes and goes. Personally I like curry, just not that strong.
But it's Steve band, he can play whatever he wants and kill it every time.

Yes, but I think it's manufactured in an Asian factory.

A few years ago I made a drum out of a coffee can and a Remo practice pad; that's why I like this Kit:

They can't complain that your drums sound like tin cans if that's what they look like!

Some interesting happenings at NAMM:
1) DW booth was not on the main floor as usual. They were in a separate room upstairs by themselves. But they had the Terry Bozzio spaceship set in full display there though.
2) Met Veronica Bellino, the girl who's doing the Jeff Beck gig now, and she told me they're in the process of recording now.
3) Didn't get to see Tobias Ralph so, for me, the best live drum performance at the show was Big Mike Clemons with Israel Houghton and New Breed playing at the Taylor Guitars booth on Saturday.
4) Met Steve Jordan - he happened to come by to say hi to Tal Wilkenfeld at the EBS booth where I was watching her play with Steve Ferrone. Tagging along with Jordan: Jackson Browne.
5) Got in Thursday night and went straight to the Blue Whale downtown and caught Tim Lefebvre's gig with Mark Guiliana and Gary Novak. Gary brought in a vintage round badge (I think) Gretsch 4 piece set. Both Mark and Gary were great - Gary is Gary and Mark's been one of my favorites for some time now. Also got to see him on Saturday at MI with Gretchen Parlato.
6) During the break between sets of the Blue Whale gig, I noticed this guy standing next to me and recognized him. So, I got to meet my recent favorite for the past few years, Andy Fisenden! He was there with the bassist you see him playing with mostly in those YouTube clips, Dane Alderson. Andy was in LA for his first NAMM show, but he wasn't scheduled to play anytime officially during the show.
