Hey Mike,

Just want to jump in here and say great work and a great service provided to the community, especially to the younger players that might not have been exposed to some of the deeper concepts/hipper stuff. I'm a firm believer that there's room for everyone and it's great that you're working in good faith to get across strong fundamentals and also keep the inspiration and interest level high.

The production value adds are noticed and swell. Do you have camera operators for the motion shots or are the cameras just on servos that keep them in constant motion?

Anyway, looks and sounds great. Like the Meinls, too.

EDIT: wow, this thread sure turned around.

LOL, I'm just messing with Jim. 99% of the cats on HOD are great guys and great drummers. I see a ton of support for fellow drummers on here which is awesome. It's just that 1% that I enjoy messing with every now and again :)

:) Cool! Nice job on what you do, Mike. You provide a valuable service to young drummers. Only one criticism: If you have a mole here at HOD, never tell anyone you have a mole. :D

Thanks so much for the kind words. Nothing to worry about with moles. It's just important to remember the people that talk behind my back talk behind Everyone's back so it always gets back to me in a hurry. I just don't understand why people talk their smack in little extra private chats. Just call me and get it off of your chest (916) 276-2980.

Thanks a ton Lucas, guys like you make it all worth while bro! As far as the camera movement I do all of that in post production on my own. The cameras are stationary. I shoot the different angles with pretty wide shots and then I can pan in any direction I want during the clip. Let me know if you have more questions about it and then I can give you a call today to break down the specifics :)

Talk to you soon,

Bullshit.

BLAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That made my day. Jeff Indyke is irrepressable. He's got one groove and one fill that he uses on everything, and now he's a Dixieland drumming legend. Amazing!

Playng dixieland in 1/2 time...that's definitely a unique approach...

I can really hear a big Gadd influence in Jeff's playing.

I know that the H.O.D. cats take those 4 notes very seriously so I just wanted to apologize anyone that might be offended with the way that I share information over the internet.

Yes HOD guys, I see all of your trash talking as well. Unfortunately you guys have a mole planted by me a very long time ago.

And my personal favorite:
I assume you wouldn't critique what I have done unless you had done something better yourself right? right?

These kind of posts pretty much speak for themselves. If someone doesn't see issues with these comments, then the conversation ends there.

Mike, it would appear that you're not really interested in discussing drumming in general, since whenever you come here you start a topic about ..well, you. I think you have good intentions, and are perhaps unaware about certain aspects of your choices of communication that turn folks off. I went to your site to see how you participated in your forum, then I saw you don't have one (I did see a lot of ADD TO CART buttons though). If you started a forum I imagine you would get a lot of folks, I also imagine it would be a lot like the comments on youtube.

Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with trying to make money with music on the internet, it's difficult. I just think the overall vibe plays a part in one's true intention with a web site and that attracts a certain kind of viewer. I think the HoD viewers are a classy group who are passionate about drumming with an emphasis on maturity (generally speaking). 10+ years of consistent quality drumming chat speaks for itself and showing up out of nowhere because we take "4 notes very seriously" is not disrespectful, It's just naive.

I thought about that comment, about taking it seriously. I was reminded of how someone who loves the game of baseball might take something as simple as a particular pitching style seriously. To an outsider, it's just throwing a ball. But to one that Loves the game...well you get it.

Suddenly I feel like I'm trying to explain to a kid why "Casblanca" is better than "The Hangover".

Good luck.
