That's for sure. I've never even heard much of Mike's playing, and I've been known to over-use that combination from time to time. I think I first heard it from Carmine Appice, Tommy Aldridge, Neil Peart and Barriemore Barlow.

Bozzio as well.

Somehow, in my mind, context is key and no lick is over used when used in just the right spot of the music; what works, works.

Yeah, well, when I was 15 or 16, EVERY spot was the right spot! ;)

Steve, great job on the song. I loved the energy, ideas, and all that was going on drum wise. This inspired a HODSteve-A-Thon of which I just finished. I enjoy all your videos and find them extremely helpful and relevant musically.

Were you using Vic Firth´s in another video?

I think those metrophones were handed down to me as someone's extra. I have normal earbuds under them. I haven't tried the Firth phones, I would like to though, the metro ones aren't very comfortable.

Vic Firth ones don't sound very good.. Not much bottom end and fidelity

Although playing drums with them isn't bad.. As your drums sound fat with them..

Not particularly comfortable as well..

Mr. Holmes just got a shout out on Weckl's Facebook page for this video.

That's WAYYYYY better than a Grammy.
“Let's try some of my songs.” Dave Grohl, top sign drummer will be fired.
