Do you actually believe you still have rights?

It was rumored, and maybe even proven, Im not entirely sure, that at one point checking certain books out of the library possibly put you on a watch list of some type. Im surprised it's taken this long with the internet. Im not worried about my rights. The only things I do wrong really are drive with an expired inspection sticker and smoke large amounts of marijuana. Obviously, not at the same time 8-)

I look forward to the day when there's a mass uprising and things change. Unfortunately, it's going to take a lot of violence and loss of lives before anything changes. The political system is rigged. Without coordinated resistance, we're all doomed to be serfs, unless we're one of the chosen 0.001%.

So, I re-read the article. If one was against internet piracy, why would that same person not be for some of this bill? For instance, let's say person A was talking on FB about stealing Altered's new record off of Pirate Bay. If that information was passed along and not only stopped the stealing of that record, but others, wouldn't that be exactly what you are looking for? Im not being sarcastic, I'm seriously posting the question. If someone was texting a young child they found online trying to coerce them into something unthinkable, would you not want the appropriate authorities to have access to this info? What about a plan like 9/11? I mean anything can be abused, any law or bill or idea. Im not saying I agree with the bill, or that I even disagree, but I just like to weigh both sides of the argument, instead of relying on sticking to a certain set of principles for the sake of it.

I too, look forward to that. I in no way think that things are great the way they are. But, I must say, I take pride in the fact that I am happy. I work, I make enough money to cover my expenses, I have an awesome wife and a gift of a daughter. Im a homeowner, my wife gets to drive a cool car, I have nice drums and I get to play them and people will pay me for it!! I get to eat pretty well, I get to play my video games on a nice system and many other things, all while the govt keeps trying to screw me!! Yet, whenever someone asks me how I am, I can truly asnd honestly say Im happy. This to me is a big fuck you to the people who are "in control". Most people when confronted with the same question, just lay down a laundry list of things that are wrong or they aren't happy with. Could I have more? Of course. But I have earned all that I have. The govt can examine whatever they want about me. I have nothing to hide. I dont steal, I dont deal, and I dont hurt people.

Circh, I would extrapolate your argument to make a point. Since illegal drug distributors use the interstate highway system to move their illegal narcotics from state to state is it reasonable to institute mandatory automobile searches at state borders to combat drug trafficking? Even if the results of all this new searching reduces drug trafficking, I am not going to willingly abdicate my 4th amendment rights to give the police additional authority to search me or my automobile.

Leave the Internet the fuck alone. It's been an out of control for a good decade now. Leave it alone or it will bite whom ever fucks with it.

CISPA as well as the TPP will mean a STASI like society, where everyone is being watched ALL THE TIME.
I for one don't want this. I love the free internet. It brought me things like HOD, and I love HOD.
Leave the internet the fuck alone.

I make most of my income from the Internet, but if it disappeared tomorrow, I wouldn't give a shit.
