The splashes aren't doing it for me, but the rest of the lineup sounds killer.

Also, this is the best sounding VC *kit* I've heard in a long time. Tuning/micing/eq make it sound nice and resonant, not as dead as I'm used to from him.

They still seem to me to be low volume cymbals, with a defined upper limit, but they sound superb, and deliciously chocolatey with a hint of cinnamon and perhaps some clove or a subtle whiff of nutmeg.

My 2002s are more nutmeggy, in fact.

I think that is a fair assessment. The A customs I had were the same way; beautiful sound but with lessened headroom volume wise. The whole lot sound really great to me the few times I've listened with headphones. That china has that beautiful low, breathy sound that I associate with him. Really nice!

The cymbals sound great, and the drums as well. I was even more impressed while watching realizing the toms werent mic'ed. I dont care much for the A Customs but I like these. The prices are a bit ridiculous. I've payed less for new K crashes than the price for those splashes. The ride though is extra sweet. Even at that price.

I have a 602 ride that has a volume limit, I wish it would break up a little bit past that point to give me some interesting ovetones, but it just stops there. It's hard to mix it in with louder cymbals, like 2002s.

It has to be paired with other 602s.

Great sounding cymbal, but it sounds like it sounds. The bell is incredible however.

It's always a treat watching him improvise. I particularly liked the flam phrasing using the snare and cymbals.
The kit and cymbals sound great, but not as great as they sounded before he switched in my opinion. Just preference I guess.

I keep wondering about guys that switch late in their careers. The worst example ever is Tony switching to DW. Biggest WTF. Ever.

I don't really care about Vinnie's gear but that video is awesome. They did a great job producing it.

He could probably play camber cymbals and cb drums and it would still sound awesome. Really nicely produced video. Makes me want to play some drums.

Not trying to be the internet disagreer guy, but chocolate and nutmeg? They sound like balanced cymbals to me and that's about it.
