Novak is fantastic (as always). Would love to see him on a gig with Oz Noy or a band leader of that sort...

is this clip just them jamming on the spot or are they really trying the chicken?
I love Novak, but in a fun way, I want to ask the bass player, wtf was that? A master class on how to not lay it down? LOL

It's like having a bass player saying he knows Through The Fire by Chaka Khan, but he does not, so he tries to fake his way thru it. The bassist knew what he was doing, it was just not the normal chicken bass.

I saw Reggie few years ago it was just crazy. He's got feel, groove, solid time and taste.
I think they were just jamming something similar to Chicken and played loosely around that. I liked it a lot.

I think they were just playing around as well. it was a bit 'out' for my tastes, but good.

So solid!!! Really nice beat placement and that figure at the end of the chorus is never rushed...great stuff!!!
Oh yeah, and I don't think anyone plays singles like Novak. Interesting to see how far back he's holding his sticks
