Shuffling through drum mags I found this funny list of customer's terminology that Houston's Drum Shop manager gathered over the years.
Recognize any of them? I'll post the answers latter.

1. Perky-nose snare drum
2. Riser toms
3. Rider toms
4. Floor bass
4. Bass drum crawfish
6. Crush cymbals
7. Squatty legs
8. Shoe foot
9. Snow foot
10. Beaker ball
11. Footies
12. Deep dish snare
13. Sky toms
14. Speed Queen pedal
15. Drum covers
16. Drum tops
17. Thrash lids
18. Cymbal pads
12. Muzzles
20. Mountain on a barrel

...and share yours.

My mom's:
Golden saucers = cymbals
The big you put on the side on the ground = bass drum
The big you put a pillow in = bass drum
The one that sounds like the army = snare drum
Orchestra = drumset
When she tells people what I do: "My son plays orchestra and tunes the musicians in a Bing Bang."
Translation: "My son plays the drums and accompanies musicians in a Big Band."

Back in the day when I worked retail, a customer asked me if we carried those 'Giblitar' rack systems. ( pronounced JIB-luh-tar )
