Wow! Everybody has their own take on what they like in this but the part where he's talking about the feel of Latin music is phenomenal! Such an indescribable thing and to demonstrate it so succinctly! OMG

These are not from the same clinic are they?
In the Vinnie Colaiuta Clinic No.2, he has that speech "thing"...

EDIT - Ok, of course they're not, since he answers the same questions in both, sorry.

Great stuff, Thanks!!!

Is it just me, or is Vinnie playing 20/16 instead of 19/16 in the Keep it Greasy demonstration. I swear I just can't make it work out to 19. He breaks it down from around 6:54 to 7:54 or so. It's probably just me.

Phil, I think this is the one where he plays in 19, at tempo but then it skips to a slowed down demonstration of the 21 groove.

Thanks, that would make sense. Just could not get to 19 to save my life. I can accommodate an extra 16th somewhere, but 19 was not happening and it was driving me crazy.

I just listened to this again since I first heard it about 6 years ago... Just as you come back to a track or groove later on and pick up on more nuance because you are further evolved, listening to his explanations this time, I just gained +5 drum points.

it really is a shame he has not put ou this own DVD....just for an official peek into his thoughts etc...

Funny that in his last MD interview he talked about fireworks and clinics....that last clip man he was blowing peoples heads off with his playing/intro.
