Yea, Tombo 7/4, I remember that show at the Bottomline. I guess a bunch of us from the Collective went.

Two of my favorites:

Sonny Rollins - Don't Stop the Carnival (live @ GAMH)
Carla Bley - Movies

EDIT:

McCoy Tyner
- Passion Dance
- Counterpoints: Live in Tokyo
(both taken from the same concert around '78)

Yeah, I think the whole class was there (I’m pretty sure it was at the Blue Note though…then again I saw so many shows that summer...)

Were you at Montreal DrumFest a couple weeks ago?
I got a backstage pass and got to meet Bobby Sanabria and Jost Nickel. Talked about the good ol’ days and laughed at dated pictures I brought.
Bobby’s performance was somewhat traditional with him signing African and Cuban chants while playing bata drums. He had Leo Traversa on bass (Hey, we played with this guy! in the rhythm section classes).
Jost was really something. He’s now a top studio cat in Germany and also records in France and UK. He played along European pop hits he was on.
A complete musician: groove, feel, musicality, originality and a deep reservoir of chops used with taste. He actually spent a few days in Quebec City afterwards.

Oups, back to the thread…

Tony, Tony, Tony. I think it was his last tour with his yellow Gretschs.

what a great and extensive list!
that also reminds me that I haven't been on Dime in so long that my account expired! I'll have to try and get signed up again on there.

Why? What gives you the right to do that?

Am I missing something? Is this a joke? If not, here is my answer. I put the compilation together from performances that I have DLed from DIME and collected myself over the last 15 years. For you I will sell you one for a special price of $1,000,000. For everyone else you can go to DIME and get it for free.

Remember The Naked Brothers Band Show? You know, the kid band you wanted to strangle? Well, their dad, Michael Wolff is a jazz pianist/producer and had Tony on his Trio albums. They may be some of the last Cds Tony did. 2AM and Jumpstart are two of the CDs with Tony.

I am still not sure what possible objection you could have to this project. If you want to clarify, that would be great. If you want to ask me some questions about my motivations and methods - cool.
