Technically speaking, I think those Ludwigs are fine drums...I just think only certain drums will handle the way VC tunes, which is super low ala Tony, Copeland, with the batter head higher than the reso...Not really a fan of that sound for the last 5-7 years that he's had. :-) I would like to know if Ludwig still uses their vintage baseball bat bearing edge, though. :-)

Not a fan of the Ludwig period and later. Not digging the Paistes either really. I just think they lack character, which I understand some people view as imperfections, but I loved how the Zildjians cut through in a musical context.

Really dig his sound from about 2000 up until the change, though.

The live video sound I've heard around 2007-2010 is pretty much what I'd like for myself.

Are any of those 1st and third videos in sync? The third video is weird, the same close up Vinnie shot of him not playing.

No guitar, what a treat!
He's been using Yamaha a bit recently!

Yes, there are moments when they're in sync.
