I am revisiting FZ via "Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar". Frank's solos ALONE are incredible, absolutely love it...

The "in the moment" live connection between Vinnie and Frank is pure genius musicianship. Vinnie had already reached a Master level back then, unbelievable. (I know, any serious HODer knows this already).

Oh how I wish I had witnessed that band live!!!

My boy, no prisoners, NO PRISONERS, NEVER !!!
So much inspiration on "Blue Tav", on that song alone, the 1st song of this masterpiece, so many GREAT fills, the 1st one he plays during the 3/4 beats alone, I mean, come on...

The outro on that tune is insane. Mid-80s Vinnie had more angular and powerful playing. This is in that same vein.

Man when he counts it off - lays down the groove - then BOOM the bass comes in on that big hit that ends up being the theme for the tune. So cool. That made me smile big.

First intro to VC was Dog Cheese at the Spud in the mid 80s...
Didn't comprehend most of it...just knew I was witnessing something
VERY different than the usual rock drumming I was absorbed with
at the time. I lost my DC bootlegs on cassette sadly...glad these are
around.
