Oct. 1996 ... wouldn't that be around the time Sting and Vinnie had their mythical fallout? He does seem very bored, even though it's still Vinnie being VInnie. Maybe a little too much Vinnie at times.

I understand that the original plan for the Mercury Falling tour was 6-8 months and it kept being extended. It ended up being 18 months long and I imagine that Vinnie was just fed up with being on the road. Apparently it was made very difficult for him to get out of doing the additional dates.

I saw him on this tour 3 months into it, and the month after the Seoul vid (so 8ish months into it). He looked thoroughly pissed off each time.

BUT, they remain the single most impressive and aggressive drum performances I've ever seen, nothing has matched them in the 18 years since. Hounds of Winter is just nuts. I was completely blown away - it was the first time I'd seen him and I was only 16. Would love to back in time to that moment.

I honestly never tire of watching the footage from these years. Vinnie was in top form back in those days and the band was so tight with one another. Vinnie's energy pushing and pulling is simply masterful. I'm not sure what process goes into changing up song arrangements or adding players to the band, but these simple 4 pieces served the music so well.

Agreed.

This is good - only half an hour but image and sound in sync. You wait 18 years for some Mercury Falling tour footage to emerge then 2 come along at once.
