After watching the 35 year anniversary dvd the past two weekends its gonna take getting used to KC's groove. I'm used to Simons spacing. Simon is in the middle but slightly laid back. Not quite in the middle. But he is. Hard to explain. Didn't like the feel of that clip. I kinda need to see a DVD production of KC with the band to hear how he feels with the band. JW has great tone. Yes he's older and can't sing like he did decades ago but he's got that voice. It's great.

Gonna see the band this august at the Greek theater. Super cool venue.

Cool, yes. But it's never loud enough there (or at the Hollywood Bowl). I suggest sitting as close to the stage as possible.

Keith lived (still does?) in Nashville for a while and I got to see him on a couple occasions. It's amazing how watching YouTube clips can make us jaded, but he really does lay it down. All the shit that we as drummers are sick of re: his go to licks is really not an issue live. He beats the piss out of the drums, and dare I say his left hand power is Copland-esque. You will absolutely hear the para diddle-diddle foot combo thing, but you will also undoubtably see every band member on stage smiling while he's doing that lick, and every other thing he plays. I sound like a fanboy, but I am not. However, in Nashville, it's rare to see a guy play drums live that isn't playing to a click and trying to strictly stick to the studio parts of songs. Enjoy!

I'm glad they revamped "Reelin in the Years." Never cared too much for the Alive in America version...took all the Earthyness out of it. That crowd sounds lame though...
