The second bass drum does slide slightly.
Besides, I've got a great device for preventing that. It's called "carpet".
Also, it's not fair to compare both drums. They're tilting upwards, and since one is caught by the pedal attachment, the resulting tension on the rim affects the resonance (see Bob Gatzen videos). Surely there's a difference, but that test isn't fair.
It's a cool invention, but I don't see a huge benefit beyond mounting comfort and BD rim longevity.

Yes, but drums sound way better on wood than on carpet. I still think it would slide though, even with that lift thing. I do like the concept, and it does allow for more horizontal positioning options. If you had two lifts, you could easily swap out a different pedal on a gig if a spring or beater broke too.

I'd have to see one up close to see if it was worth checking out.

Personally, I've always liked the subtle dampening effect of a carpet, and also it helps the hi hat stay in place as well.
I use a rug called a "crash pad". Its a rug with a block in the front that is attached to the rug. It keeps the bass in place.
Dixon does make good hardware though, lightweight and sturdy. Good luck with it if you buy it though

I actually prefer carpet too, but the drums sing better on wood for sure. I know the rug you're talking about. Those are cool.

It looks ok, the test they have done doesn't make me want to google the site and order one..... I don't think the slightly intoxicated punters (crowd) would notice the difference at any gig I do..... then again is there is always 1.

Notice how he went in to the description of the bass drum construction, colour (that would always make a difference ) and that IT'S ONLY 6MM THIN!!!!!

Good idea this carpet stuff, should get some when it comes out.
