Nate Wood is an animal.

If you guys aren't familiar with Nate Wood, or his band "Kneebody", you should check 'em out. Wood is exceptionally tasteful, and gets a great sound out of his drums. Check it:

One more, but this time with only 3/5 of the band, and with Nate playing bass and drums at the same time (!)

Anybody that hasn't scoped Kneebody needs to... now.

I have seen them live numerous times and I can say that the first time I did, it changed the game.

The just came through phx did a show and a clinic. The clinic was great.

I really enjoyed that. I'll be doing some more digging on these guys. Very nice. Thanks for turning me on to it!

Whoa! That was great...

This is like the straight ECM-ish thing on crack. Very cool.

I had a group that did some covers of their tunes... It was some of the most challenging stuff I've had to work out with an ensemble. That clinic they did really shed some light on how they put it all together on stage. Everything is done off signals, kind of like how Krantz does it, but with more through composed ideas.

They just came out with a new album that has some incredible stuff on it...

It hasn't left my daily rotation since I got it.
