Yep. It's a pity he didn't get to be one of the drummers on the Letterman drum solo week shows and perform that tune, he would have really gone down a storm. Mind you, seeing as how the house band kind of fucked up keeping it locked in with Dennis, they might have struggled keeping that tricky 4 measure motif together behind John's amazing solo. :D

RIP John.

A friend of my younger brother passed last week. Recently adopted a girl, wouldn't have expected him, he was larger than life, literally. We go when we must, I suppose.

I think of these lyrics a lot as I get older.

When we are young
Wandering the face of the Earth
Wondering what our dreams might be worth
Learning that we're only immortal
For a limited time

Time is a gypsy caravan
Steals away in the night
To leave you stranded in Dreamland
Distance is a long-range filter
Memory a flickering light
Left behind in the heartland
