That's my pal Michael <3

He's done such a wonderful job recruiting Gadd (along with fellow Dane and Hammond wiz Dan Hemmer) for tours and albums over the past 10 years <3

Oldie but goodie. I think that's Joe Broncato introducing Steve Gadd.

One of my favorite quotes from Mr. Gadd "music is about people".

That video is hilarious! LOVE it...best cats in the world having fun...
they are on the other side of the fence...stellar careers...resumes
to die for...and what do they do? screw around!

There's an Ep 07 that is funny as well...

The angle of Steve's snare is almost shocking here...

One of best musical solos ever? Pure Gadd groove...

Charles Mingus featuring drummers Joe Chambers, Dannie Richmond & Steve Gadd.

Check out starting @ 22:32
It's interesting Gadd's sound changed from an open Gretsch "jazz tone" in the early 70s to a muted "walled on the snare" mid 70s sound so that he could work a lot with different engineers and producers. The producers preferred hearing that dry/dead sound for recording in the 70s, so Gadd stuck with it so he could work. He said it took him a while to adapt, but he wanted work.

Also, I think GADD and MARCUS MILLER are a "great pairing" as in the earlier Jarreau video and Tom Scott's Apple Juice ( a very young Marcus Miller).
