HI Morgenthaler, did you take the pics? If so, in what context were they taken?

Vinnie and Jimmy Johnson were at a Dewa Budjana session at Jim Henson Studios and Virg dropped by to say hi.
So they just hung out there a bit. Someone used Virg's camera or phone to document it. There are a few additional shots
of them over at Virgil's Facebook Page.

Glad you guys like 'em!

I really hope you check out the Holdsworth clip from that post. Blinding stuff from Virgil and the others.
The initial 45 seconds are particularly awesome, drumming wise.

Yeah, Virgil is incredibly solid. Ridiculous really.

I remember when I saw this tape from the 1996 Modern Drummer festival in 1997... I was stuck before the screen with another drummer we were both shaking our heads in disbelief! No jokes!

Virgil sounded so very good on this Premier Genista kit.

There are so many reasons why I respect and am in total awe of Virgil. This is one of them.
Not because it is at anyway near concert pianist level (coz it isn't!), but because his sheer excitement and curiosity brought him to this level:

PS: @ Noise Picker - that *is* the 1997 MD Festival, not 1996 ;)
