Yes, I'd say that's too close.

I sat that close, the first time I heard Virgil live, back in 1996 and his physicality was downright frightening.
Also, i hope they all have ear protection

What do you like about it? Sounds like Sammy Hagar circa 1982.

I understand that comment Paul...I think it is more on the genre of the music.
But if you dig this style, then a supergroup of this magnitude is exciting.

Lead vocalist that is highly respected...his energy and confidence singing
is unlike most in this genre. Soto is several steps ahead.

Guitarist with a lifetime of experience...easily the hardest working musician around
covering at least 3-4 generations of music who has touched the sky of success.

Bass player like lead vocalist is highly respected

Drummer who is cutting edge of complex rhythms, reminds me of a Tony Williams
playing in a more commercial rock band that is exciting.

All of them coming together...it is the energy of these personalities before
the music for me, but I dig this album musically as well.

In the end, it would be a group I would take my 22yo neighbor to see...to check
out a genre of music he does not listen to and get a taste of excellence.
I also want to see this genre not die a slow death...because it is 2009 or so when
this came out there are only so many chord progressions you can use to sound
different...kinda been played to death so every genre has a lifespan. Rock bands
in the 70's are like those heading out west in wagons--clear horizons, by this time,
the rock music scene is like driving the 405 at 3pm!

I don't. I may have liked it 35 years ago, but that stuff doesn't stand the test of time. Mainly because of the compositions. If you don't have a great song, it doesn't matter how well you execute it. You can polish a faucet all you want, but that won't improve the taste or purity of the water.

There are plenty of examples of even older recordings in that genre that DO stand the test of time however. Some of Neal's recordings with Jan Hammer for example. Or Giant:

LOL...there ya go! ...and we call this art because all roads never lead to the same
destination. Virg's intro "compostionally" to me is as creative and musical as it gets for
this genre. At the time I wanted to hear Virg in a rock band BAD...so when this came out
I was stoked! The energy and drive never stops...it get it blends with all the rest, but
so does jazz or any genre, old conversation. This song reminds of another Schon classic
Hot Cherie...another I never tire of! What can I say...like me some balls to the floor rock
along with a side scoop of Cannonball Adderley & Exit 9 - Straight Up.

Test of time is often more subjective than we think.

For me personally, time has shown that get tired of everything.

When I go to a show I want to hear something different, if not, why go in the first place? Different from most non-musicians I know. but they too at least usually appreciate it when they give it a chance.
