Latest issue of Drumhead with Steve Michaud!

Postby Clint Hopkins » Wed Nov 24, 2010 6:14 pm

Hey guys,
Check the latest issue of Drumhead with Matt Chamberlain on the front. As I turned the pages in the bookstore, I noticed a fantastic article by HOD drumming monster, Steve Michaud. The article features some absolutely mind-blowing, musical fills and grooves that would make Vinnie proud. All transcribed from David Hines' 'Inner Duality' CD with conceptual comments written by Steve. I highly recommend checking it out.

Hey everybody,

I'm glad you all like the piece. I learned so much from doing those transcriptions. Steve is an incredible musician and a really wonderful human being.

There is some absolutely ridiculous stuff happening on those David Hines records. I would highly recommend checking them out. It's some of the hardest stuff I've worked on!!

Always a pleasure,

Terry

When ever I'm in the mood for fusion music I play one of the albums I mentioned. There is so much going on. My mind goes numb and I just soak it in. He's a gold mine. Hes so musical in his approach. Need more recordings steve. I hope he's signed up on the new forum.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks so much for the kind words! And yes, Terry is indeed a guru of transcribing and was nothing but a pleasure to work with on these.

The magazine also comes with a CD containing audio clips of the transcriptions. It's available at Barnes and Noble and Guitar Center (perhaps some other places as well).

Thanks for checking it out!

Warmly,

Steve Michaud
