Recent Novak studio vid...

Postby moose » Tue Jun 05, 2012 8:07 am

Hopefully not a re-post, found it in related videos for something I was watching, and the groove at 1m10s required a trouser change. Mmm-mm.

Novak is one of my favorite players. Guy has style and technique for ages, but it all comes out so musical.

Love Gary's playing ... whether he's on drums ... or "slappin' da bass". (2:27) The pimp hand is strong in this one!

Didn't Gary play bass on a couple albums? I can't recall which.

love the g-man.

haven't seen him in performance or clinic in a long while, but i was surprised at his approach during one. he kind of took the lowest common denominator path and rocked out. it sounded amazing, but i was expecting him to wax poetic on (and play) the more nuanced stuff.

maybe he thought it was most suited to the crowd at that moment.

awesome player!
