recorded these vids using an Xperia Arc, not bad sound or picture.
I don't usually post vids of self but have to start somewhere I guess, and really digging my new old ride cymbal.

Nice funky playing. Bass sound is a little distorted on my 'puter, but, the drums sound great otherwise.

Nick, my man, finally I see one of my role models playing! The open solo was sweet, love the subdivisions towards the end. Do you keep your bass drum a bit open or is it just the recording?

thanks guys! Henry II, yeah not sure if they build something into these recorders but after the fist few hits it seems to settle down a bit which is good.

Przemek, thanks mate, yeah some of the groove played on a 16 floor tom/converted kick - wide open, and the rest on regular 22" bass drum, sadly the difference in timbre between these drums isn't that noticeable with the phone/video mic, shame as it makes the 9/8 groove sound more musical...can't complain though as the picture looks great!

Very nice playing Nick! Just curious...what kind of head is that on the snare?

Thanks Joe, it's an Aquarian DeJohnette head, can't say enough about how good these sound!

Great playing!!!

Camera's little condenser is definitely being over driven, but still sounds good!

Thanks Josiah, yeah really happy with it, things have really improved since the old days of the cassette dictaphone which got so distorted!!!

Cassettes?! Tapes?! Haha for sure

You can get some pretty amazing drum sounds pretty decently price equipment wise. Steve's shedding videos are unreal sounding and I think he did it for under a grand, there's a thread you can search for.

yes thanks I remember that thread, that is the next step - mics...and treating the room more for recording I guess.
