Yeah, I saw that too and am rather curious...

Maybe a band announcement or something? New solo record?

I think any endorsement changes would be coming waaaay from left field.

Let´s start the "ideas":

- A new Dave Weckl Band reunion.
- A new solo album.

Joking:
- A new cowbell is added to his left side
- Sting touring with 2 drummers now.
- If it is BIG, then he is going to use a 24" bass drum.

I doubt he would jump ship from Yamaha- he's been with them for what has to be 30 years by now (at least).

Maybe he's switching to matched grip.

It's neither of those. :) But it's neat, I think this community in particular will be interested.

Perhaps Dave is announcing he is
--coming out of the closet
--coming out with a 3rd pr of signature sticks
--coming clean that he has tried to play like Buddy Rich, but just cannot do so
--coming to play at bars and cafes since they require less overhead (venue rent, stage crew, etc)
--coming to the conclusion that Karen Carpenter, a drummer, sold more records than he (by far !!!!!!)
--has developed arthritis and cannot play like he wishes

He is quitting drums to become a singer... He wants to write, direct, and star in his own music videos.

He just heard that Disney has bought Lucasfilm, and is giving up drumming in an unrelated rebellion.

I'm guessing CCEB original line-up tour and/or album

DWB reunion wouldn't be a big deal to me. I always liked him better playing other people's music (and NOT Jay Oliver's)

Well I know they already did that a while back, though John Patitucci couldn't make all the dates and Victor Wooten subbed...

... I think a trio of Oz Noy, Tom Kennedy, and Dave would be wicked. Maybe he got a big pop gig or something?
