Yes, he was. Vital Information, or some semblance of it, performed at PIT (old school) and it was put to video and available in the library there. Wicked sick. I must have watched it 20 times.

I'm on board with this. I do not understand nouvel Steve Smith.

Steve's got his stuff down, but I sort of view him more as a reference book than an inspired artist.

Doesn't move me.

Wearing a scarf is the same as choosing a black tshirt over a green one. Couldn´t care less.

I liked the solo actually... Like the 5´s, the use of swing phrases and the compositional aspect of the whole thing.. The swing time stuff was the weakest part though.

IMO People should stop putting so much weight on Grubber´s shoulders... Weck, Smith, Peart and the others are different players than the ones they used to be... Just blaming a couple of on and off lessons with Grubber makes no sense to me.

The scarf is just an attempt at improving presentation, no biggie.
Steve's a great drummer. Not thrilled about the sound of his blackdots though. I like how Steve is always practicing and working on getting to the next level.

Like Steve said, I also enjoy the fact that he's always going for more whether you like what he comes up with or not.

I agree with the sentiment that applauds Steve's dedication and contribution. He is truly an amazing player.
