) Seriously, He's one of the great contemporary Jazz drummers of our time. Will try and catch one of the later shows...

Caught him a couple months ago with Sco and Mike Stern
He's simply sick! And he has the...I can only describe it as, GROOVIEST cymbal sounds!!!!

Wow bummer for him. Even if they made good hardware the tom sound is in-exusable.

Bill was incredible. He has a very big dynamic range. From ppp with brushes to fff with a slamming wrist flick back beat. He actually held the sticks using traditional grip for about eight bars of one tune.
I didn't like the sound of the drums. Small room, and I was sitting close, so I was hearing unadulterated DW Jazz drums. Bill made them sound better than I could, that's for sure.

I thought he was a Yamaha guy now? Maybe he couldn't score a kit?
I saw him at Catalina's years ago, a very unique drummer. Interesting he tried trad grip for a bit. I wonder how much he messes with it.
I really7 like him on the Metheny/Scofield "I Can See Your House From Here".....particularly "Everyone's Party" (am I remembering that name correctly?).
