For those fortunate to be going to the Namm show, would you be so kind as to let us who can't go know about the latest news and product launches?

I'm particularly keen to hear what Yamaha have to offer. I've heard about a relaunch of the Absolute range and the Recording Customs.

Thanks

No new Recording Customs (yet). New Maple Absolutes with center ply of wenge wood (south American species?) and a new YESS-3 mount. The drums use similar lugs to the PHX line. New finishes too.

Meinl will present some new cymbals at NAMM. One is THE MJ signature Transition ride. Anyone here in for it? :D

And of course we can't leave out a clip with the Master himself playing it:

Never heard so much BS in a promo ....

Has any one seen more Sakae videos from artists ?
Wonder whether the Vic Firth Vinnie sticks are up to the last ones. I liked the previous Vinnie stick a lot. Has any one tried the Tony stick ? That was actually a really cool stick !
Any one know why Erskine changed heads ?

That Mike Johnson ride cymbal sounds pretty good. I like a little more meat (thicker cymbal) than that but would use it. So many cymbals these days. lots of variety. it's like the food at the grocery store. 25 different brands of Italian dressing. 50 different tuna fish brands. no more one size fits all. you have to carry lots of cymbals into a session... or not. I like zach danziger's ride cymbals he showcased in a thread. They sound great. love the small sizes. Would love to hear those.
