So I was just watching the "Reggae for Drumset" video, and just loved the snare drum sound. Some sort of block wood drum which from the credits is by a company who's name starts with a P, but the rest of the logo looks just like bad handwriting, so it's hard to tell. Spent half an hour googlin, but so far no luck.
Anyone else seen the video and know what it is?

No, I haven't seen it, sounds somewhat interesting. As far as the snare sound, don't forget that it is probably processed in some way via mic'ing, compression and other things...not knowing the production value's, etc. of the video. Does this guy have a website with a gear section, maybe? I know how you feel, when you hear something spectacular on a video and want that piece of equipment. I hope you find it...!

He has a site and it has a gear section, but the snares aren't mentioned. In the video however it says that all his snares are that brans who's logo I can't read.
I might just send him a mail. Worst case I don't get an answer, so it's worth a try.

It's a stave shell. There are many manufacturers offering them. I haven't
heard one personally, but they sound amazing if reviews are accurate.
