So, here's a "what's best" question. I'm just looking for people's experiences.... I noticed recently after buying a full set of Evans 360 for the tops and bottoms of my toms...They sounded great at first and then lost their tone to kevlar boxes.... I'm just wondering what people think the best brand of drum heads is for longevity of tone and also keeping that tone all while having a fairly high tension. I think Remo are known for that kind of thing but would like to hear what's out there. Thanks

I´m diggin the tone of Evans G1s on my Maple Custom Absolutes... It´s a little "rounder" than Coated Amb...
Will see how stand after some serious beating...

If you're not a hard hitter, I'd say clear ambassadors.

Coated Ambassadors on snare and toms for most music
Clear Emperors on snare and toms for loud music
Powerstroke 3 with Yamaha Impact Strip on batter head for on bass drum w/falam patch

I use evans G2 and they're more resilient try them out next time you need new ones instead of the G1

I think Remo (all Remo heads) produce more frequencies than a similar Evans. Evans heads already sound muffled/eq'd to me. Their heads seem to have less of everything I want to hear OR you might think Evans have a more focused sound.

First of all stay clear of Evans heads. One word REMO. Haven't run into an evens drum head that ever made me smile. Remo makes me smile all day. The first thing is finding the best drum head company. And I think we all know who that is. Love thy REMO. Let's all pray now.

Coated Ambassadors all the way around on top, clears on bottoms for everything.

I recently tried out some G1 level 360's on my toms and snare.

I really liked them when they were new, but they went to shit quick... the Top tom is so dead now that I don't need any moon gel, in fact, I need reverse moon gel.

Before that I was rocking Aquarian Modern Vintages and they lasted forever... I just changed them because I was curious about the level 360s.
