It does seem kinda slow. Still very cool though.

I didn't know she sang so well.

But I think that's the basic standard tempo for the song, isn't it?

you're right. the buddy rich version is around that tempo too. not of the right generation to be speaking so boldly about these things, i admit it.

that said, i think this cooks pretty well, and was the tempo i was thinking of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILonx3Lgq-k

that adderly version is awesome, so much soul. but it's played with a different interpretation.

i just think the latifah version falls flat a little bit. her voice sounds good, but i think i miss the horns wailing in the forefront.

ie im making an early morning stink about nothing. it sounded great and the band did their job perfectly.

Nice, now that's some gospel drumming haha. Vinnie slays everything he touches, drums sound great. Sneaks in some tasty licks in there too.

Tempo is perfect to me, it's the only one I know for that song anyway, awesome performance by this heavy weight band, A List players !!!
I come from Tain, Vinnie, Omar, Jeff, Fish, Stewart, and many more...
