Remo Powerstroke Pro

Hi All,

Does anyone have any thoughts about these heads? Supposedly the black head sounds really different from the transparent one. I've been using the Powerstroke 3 since forever and I love it. This head looks a bit like a 'stolen concept' as Evans makes the EQ heads. There seems to be both a foam and a felt damping ring.

Ya, I tried the black one out a couple months ago, but just for practicing and teaching. Did not get a chance to hear it in different environments. the sound changed a bit with it. I thought it had more of a slappy pillow sound.
Have you tried the power stroke 3 (black dots). I've been using them on both my gretsch kits and finding it's my new fav.
It's hard to give real usable advise, due to every kit having it's own tendencies for sound. Keep exploring...
Peace, Sammy J

I recommend buying all of them and using them at the same time. It's really the ONLY WAY to get that attack and slap we all need from our kick drums. Peace.
