'Huge' is relative, and somewhat inconsequential. One would assume the money was better playing stadiums than half empty jazz clubs. I remember hearing the opening bars of Paint the World, sensing something fresh was going on. He had a writing background too, if I recall.

Gary Novak...I´m still shocked since I saw him with Chick Corea EB2 in 1994.
I´m still shocked since Chick´s "Paint the World" (sound, playing and tunes)

You are correct, "huge" is inherently relative since it is often used as a comparison of magnitude and scale relative to some agreed upon reference point, but I get your point-- "huge" is subjective, perhaps?
