HipGig issues

Postby arb2 » Mon Jan 03, 2011 6:26 am

Fellas- I've been using the HipGig for YEARS and all of a sudden I have bass drum "creeping" issues. Anyone else have this problem? Again, I've had it for over 10 years and never had this problem. The spikes in the legs are out, I've tried NUMEROUS ways of distributing the weight evenly on the bass drum, I've tried it with/without cymbal stands connected to the kick, I've tried it with/without the snare, I've tried it with a few different rugs.... I've tried everything. Can anyone help with this? It still creeps forward on me! There's almost nothing more annoying than that.

Get a drum rug. Walmart $15. Solves that problem forever.

Put some velcro on the bass drum riser (where you're attaching your pedal) and you should be fine.

Sharpen the spurs too. If it worked fine up to now, on the same rug, that's probably the only changed variable.
