Looking Into Purchasing A Zoom . . .

Postby Frank Sanchez » Fri Nov 06, 2015 11:41 am

What would you recommend?

Any regrets?

Does it perform well with a Mac?

What do you use it primarily for?

Of course, I plan on using it for recording practices, lessons, gigs, etc. plus recording public speaking opportunities. Any input or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks HOD!

All of the videos on my youtube page are shot with my Zoom Q3HD, except for the TV clips (which are obvious.)

So there is a good sampling of rock and jazz both, shot up close and far away, loud and soft, and in different lighting. All shot with the Zoom mics on the Low sensitivity mode. I download to a Mac,and then upload, no probs. I actually have a few recent clips that I will uploading soon.

I love the thing, and have never had any issues. There are probably better devices out there, but this is simple and convenient. I think the vids look and sound better than iPhone stuff, they don't look as good as a Go Pro, but the internal sound is much better. If you have any questions I'd be happy to try and answer them.

It's a nice tool,

Are you talking about video or audio recorders? The new Q8 looks great. I have a Sony Mv1. 300

I like it,.. good sound, decent camera, One thing with the wide angle stuff though is placement is key or you look like you're on the other end of a football field. In tight spots it can be great though.

This one is just that camera audio,..

This one has a Zoom h4n blended in that was near hear the mixing board I think.

Both right next to the drums right over the right shoulder

This one has H4n blended in with vocals from the board.

Not the greatest Camera for low light but does the job.
