I would love to spend two hours listening to Kneebody, Hiatus Kaiyote and Snarky Puppy among many other "new" bands...

No, the bands recording new music that I enjoy aren't performing anywhere around here very often. Kneebody would be cool to see, but even their stuff is a bit grating after a while. I'm not interested very much in math-jazz or pyrotechnics. I enjoyed seeing Peter Bernstein's trio a couple years ago. Wayne Krantz didn't do it for me, so he's off my list too. I'm planning to see Mike Stern with Chambers in a couple weeks, and I'll go see Oz Noy if he's around again. I'd love to see Richard Bona's band or Manu Katché's band live.

Those cymbals should be way up high and perpendicular to the floor...

I do not find those Sonor drums (in that photo ^) particularly aesthetically appealing in the least. Maybe they'll look nice under stage lights.
