Killer sounding bootleg from 79 in Chicago. Kohoutek.

WOW! SO unlike the Journey most fans know!!
THIS is the SS that made me go WHAAAT was that
back in the day. So unlike a ROCK drummer...

His feel and dynamics are amazing...YES, I like the
old SS better (not the SS at his age today, but the
SS from the 90's compared to the 70's and early
80's). Glad he evolved to what his calling
was, but he truly had it all--fire, passion, technique,
taste, composition, sound (oh how I love those fat
toms back then).

Great find Lang...that first song was the antithesis of
"Who's Cryin Now"...the end of an era with Rollie to
Cain. Old Journey still braking out before the hit machine
took over with Cain and Perry's control over the band...
before the solo records that caused so much riff...before
the 'Elvis left the building' dynamics.

I have a friend at MSU that is a huge Yes fan, met his wife at a Yes show in 78. We all have a few beers once in a while, and play prog on the jukebox at a local college bar in EL. He's pretty high up at the University, but a total 70s guy. They're a cool hang.

I turned him on to the prog Journey, blew his mind.

Schon just kicks the shit out of those tunes, and he still brings the house in 2017.

It has that Journey sound, he doesn't sound bad. One of the few tunes I've heard in the past ten years that has a memorable melody. Looking forward to hearing what else is on the record.

Has a feel from his 2nd solo LP...his voice is not what is used to be...but about
20 million females can now jump for joy! Glad for Steve...it has been 20 years
for some crazy reason he has been silent. Add the previous 10 years since his
2nd solo LP which is amazing (Love of Strange Medicine)--Moyes Lucas did a great
job on drums, even dedicated his drumming to Jeff Porcaro...met him at NAMM
and told him his playing reminded me of Jeff...he told me it was a dedication to
his loss and he was glad someone recognized this.

The title however is not very "user friendly"--No Erasin'...the lyrics
are a good connect to those who have been waiting and endlessly making comments
on every Journey video that Steve Perry is the real Journey singer over Arnel. Internet
wasn't even alive back in 1996 when he left Journey...

I once spoke with a woman, in her 50's and asked her after commenting that Steve
is older and cannot do a full Journey tour anymore--logic and reasoning stuff--than said,
"It really doesn't matter how good Arnel is or what happened to Journey with Steve...
bottom line, Perry stole your heart as a young girl back in the day and no matter what,
you and every other female love this guy!" She said..."YUP"

Savor seeing a master drummer playing different solos every night while you can.

Steve is literally the last of a dying breed.
